Sunset House

The place was beautiful and the views even prettier! I loved that we had our own private dock to fish and a hot tub looking out into the sound. Very good restaurants close by and the beach was very close too. Johnathan was a great host and came by to help me add some apps to the TV for my Indian parents to enjoy! Very nice of him to do that and they appreciated it! I would definitely go back and recommend this place. Had a lovely time!

Our stay at the Sunset House was incredible. The house was perfect, the hot tub was just what we needed and the dock view with the beautiful sunset was everything! My kids fished non stop, we caught bluefish, pufferfish, lizzard fish and pinfish right off the dock! The host was fantastic, he made sure everything was running smoothly and even came over to show us how to navigate across the intercostal waterway with the kayaks they rented to us. My young kids and I made a short kayak trip to sharktooth island, we caught a bluefish and found a ton of shark teeth. 10/10 would recommend staying here!

We really enjoyed our stay! When they tell you it has memorable sunsets…. they meant that! Really nice stay, big tvs plenty of room.everything was clean and they actually had more kitchen items than some other places we have stayed. Enjoy the sunset on the back porch or dock you will not regret that.

The home was very clean and cozy! My kids loved the hot tub and kayaking. We took pictures and the memories will fill the empty space in my heart from being a foster children without having the love of my mom and dad. My husband loved the scenery. I remember looking around saying to myself I have family and I am loved ❤️

Our stay was perfect! We only stayed 1 night so we could drop our son off for MCT. We arrived late but we were able to partake in the very relaxing hot tub and all of the restaurants were very close/convenient. The host was incredibly nice and understanding. The host was also very responsive and addressed any/all concerns we had. My husband, our children and I loved how peaceful it was. We were able to spend our last few hours with him in such a serene and gorgeous home with such a beautiful view of the ocean. We felt so fortunate to enjoy our last few moments with him at such a beautiful place. Very grateful to have found this place and will book again during our next visit!

My husband and I had a great stay at Jon and Misty’s home! The hot tub, private dock and kayaks make this listing a fantastic find. There were some areas of the home in need of some TLC like the paneling in the living room. The one shower in the house could use updating as well. Jon and Misty were extremely responsive and helpful prior to and during our stay. Overall, we had a great time and would come back!

We had a wonderful time at the Sunset House. We fished off the dock and took the kayaks to the island to explore. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and the cozy atmosphere of the cottage. Jonathan was a wonderful host! The property and the amenities were exactly as described. We will be back !

This place is far more beautiful than the photos show. Kitchen is so cute and has extra supplies like a crock pot for your stay. We loved the small added details and decor throughout. We throughly enjoyed the back porch with water view and our Lab enjoyed the backyard and dock. Host communication was fantastic. Our only regret with this property is that we couldn't stay longer. We will be back ❤️

Loved staying at this house the pink all around the house made it very cute! The art work is very tasteful, the beds were comfy and the sunsets were amazing!!!

Own personal pier, kayaks were there for use and we paddled across to shark tooth island and found several shark teeth and micro shells. Beds comfy, coffee bar was stocked and its a keurig drip pot or pod which was nice if your with big family or only one coffee drinker on vacation. Bathroom had great lighting for doing hair and makeup awesome led light mirror. The location was nice between different islands we wanted to explore. Try franks pizzas in broad creek next to gas station it was a hidden gem!

We booked this location from the location and views Jon shared on his website. We were coming from PA and needed to find a close location to our relatives. Thank you Jon you filled everything we were looking for. The home had everything we needed... Kitchen was fully stocked, the bedrooms were comfortable and plenty of room for our needs... extra bedding in closet if needed. The living area was gracious with a large dinning table and seating for everyone. But what we enjoyed the most was the dock and the hot tub. We fished every night, used the Kayaks to cross over to the island to find hermit crabs, and had a fun night with the fire pit. The beach is only about 10 minutes away and the local ice cream shop only minutes down the road. We are very geared to being outside and after a day of beach the next day his home gave us another element that was fulfilling. Very relaxing vacation spot. We spent a week here for our youngest High School Graduation and did not run out of things to do even though it rained everyday. The host was very pleasant and gave us lots of information about the surrounding area. We had a wonderful time.

Very beautiful place with easy access and the private dock and hot tub were amazing. Just two warnings, the cooking equipment like the pots and pans were very worn and scratched and the shower is tiny. Overall beautiful house and location, great amenities and a great host. Highly recommend

Our family had lots of fun kayaking and enjoying the sea life from the deck and pier. We saw dolphin, cranes, ducks, crabs and fish just from the house. The hot tub was nice after a fun day of adventures. Thanks the stay!

My husband and our two dogs had a great time at this location! It was only a 10 minute drive to Emerald Isle Beach and had plenty of space for us to explore. The dock was nice to watch the sunset and the screened porch was great for late night sitting. Jonathan and his team were very responsive and so accommodating to the fact that we needed to adjust our dates on the day of. We took this trip for my 3 year old golden that was diagnosed with Lymphoma who had never seen the beach before and Jonathan did everything possible to make this a comfortable and memorable trip. We are forever thankful for the time we have left with our boy and taking this trip created a lifetime memory to carry with us now and in the future, however bleak it may seem. Thank you times a million to Jonathan for such a great trip!!

This was a great place for us to enjoy family time with my grandma. She enjoyed fishing from the dock, the kids enjoyed swimming and the hot tub.

Jon's plane was gorgeous. We loved the sunset from the hot tub and the private dock and water front. the kayaks provided allowed us to get across the water to a deserted island from which we saw dolphins in the morning. We will book again!

This was the perfect place to stay while visiting my son who is stationed at Camp Lejeune. It's only 12 minutes to Emerald Island and the fishing pier. Plus it's nice enought to just stay and hangout and fish on the dock or kayak. This was a great place to spend spring break. Oh and we got to see dolphins playing from the dock!

The pictures do not do this location justice! There is a completely empty, sandy island just across the White Oak River that you can kayak to and explore! They even provide the kayaks and life vests. The house was wonderful, my dogs had a blast and the jacuzzi has the perfect view of the sunset!

This was such a great find! On the water, priced reasonably and super nice. Jacuzzi, two porches, and kayaks to catch sun shine and listen to the water. Jon was super responsive and nice. GREAT AIRBNB!

The house was perfect and had everything we needed for our stay. The only downside was the booming we kept hearing that made our dog uncomfortable but not much we can do about that. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend- The Other Benton’s

We enjoyed our stay here. The house is nice and the beds were comfortable. Modern conveniences throughout the house. It is located right on the busy state highway, which made it a bit difficult getting in and out at times. Pretty quiet inside though.

Although the weather this time of year was snowing and cold we enjoyed this little gem of a home! My kid put on his waders and found so many sea creatures right outside the back door. We enjoyed the hot tub and watched the sun set every evening! Close to aquarium and shopping. We definitely will look to book again and or one of the hosts other properties!! Love the pink kitchen! Hahaha 😂 so cute!!

The views from the back of house were spectacular! We were not expecting it to be on a main highway, but were not bothered by too much noise. The adorable Sunset House sign illuminated the front porch at night for us to easily locate the house. Loved the fireplace!

We enjoyed staying here. Our dog was mostly contained by the fence. There is a smaller fence that would have fully contained him, but we didn’t use it. My son loved playing in the little shell beach. We were visiting family and the location was close to them. The beds were comfortable and the place is nice inside. The road it’s off of is busy but I knew that going into it. And I was surprised by how well insulated the place was. It was relatively quiet inside. Overall we had a great stay and would stay here again!

My family and I had a wonderful week at Jonathan’s place. It was a pleasant surprise to have the extra little things (toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher tabs, laundry soap) etc. The coffee bar was a nice added touch as well. The house inside and out was very peaceful, not to mention the view! We took some really nice sunset pictures from the dock and while my son was fishing he even had a dolphin swim within reach! We would definitely recommend this house to family and friends.

We had a wonderful time staying at Jonathan's place in Cedar Point! My favorite part was being able to walk out on the dock, whether it be to lay in the sun, or watch the sunset. My dad and I knew one of the previous owners and used to come down to this same house and fish on the old dock. It was nice to be in that same place many years later! The house was ADORABLE and felt very cozy. We were able to feel right at home! Jonathan was also the perfect host and kept contact with me before and during our stay. We hope this house is available for us to rent in the future!

This was our favorite family vacation by far. The kids loved swimming and we enjoyed the Kayaks and swim mat and the fishing and crabbing was really good off the dock. We weren't expecting the huge screened in porch for our toddlers to safely be contained and outdoor dining table (need to put a picture as it's an awesome feature!) We really see ourselves renting this place again next year! We saw a pod of dolphins pass by on two separate days. We took the kids across the channel to the island to play in the sand. The hot tub was relaxing after all that Kayaking. Perfect experience better than beachfront

Don’t let the location on highway 24 fool you… as you enter Jonathan & Misty’s home, you leave it all behind. The layout is perfect for noise reduction & water views. We spent almost all of our time outside in the hot tub, on the dock, or on the water. You can even walk to the boat rental place. The sunsets are spectacular! Inside they are equipped with everything you need, especially if you choose to cook at home. The dryer is extra helpful, given all the wet towels & suits. All in all this is a perfect waterside stay! We would definitely book again.

This house was the best house we have ever stayed at through VRBO. It was so clean. The beds were so comfy. They also provided anything you could ever need in the kitchen. We were all sad to leave.

My family thoroughly enjoyed staying the Sunset House. The location was perfect for all things outdoorsy and the house slept our family of 6 perfectly. They had everything you need for a trip and I actually could have packed half of what I did. I loved the homey feel of the cottage and the views from the front and back are amazing. Do yourself a favor and utilize all the things they’ve provided. Don’t forget to catch a sunset or 2 and have coffee on the dock. The pink kitchen is cute and had everything you’d need. The kayaks and swim mat were an added bonus. The host was very knowledgeable about the area, recommended places for us to go for boat rentals and even sized our family up for life jackets and brought them to us. He was very responsive and helpful. Our family loved staying at The Sunset House and would absolutely stay again. Thanks for sharing your home with us! Oh and I think the fish are always biting from that dock!!

Living in GA, it was long over due to see family from PA. We found this quaint location and lake house on a whim and couldn’t have asked for a better experience! This is an adorable lake house, 3 BR 1 B. King bed, 2 twins, queen, & 2 nice blow up matresses to put wherever. We had 8 ppl altogether and had plenty of space. The decor is so cozy, modern, chic, with a warm welcoming lake/beach feel. I felt at home. There is a long back porch half screened in and half open. The screen in area has an outside dinner table with chairs, a long rocking bench and a rocking chair. One night several of us ate dinner there and enjoyed the view of the lake. Afterwards, we watched the sunset out on the dock while some jumped in the kayak (provided). Once it was dark 6 of enjoyed the hot tub on the open patio. The scenery was breathtaking! The hot tub was very comfy after the long 6 hour drive to get there! (Being that it is summer we simply turned the heat down some). While visiting this location I noticed there were several places to choose from for food, groceries, activities, and more. We visited the Pine Knoll aquarium which is 30 minutes down the island and worth every second! We watched the sun go down at Pier Point Beach Emerald Isle. Overall, this was one of the best experiences and exceeded checking all 8 of our boxes! Jonathan, had great hospitality and answered us quickly! 10/10! Tysm!

Incredible property. Wonderful hosts. They were very communicative and helpful with arriving. Very accommodating as well. He gave me a call when I was running a couple minutes late and was very friendly about it. Will absolutely return and recommend. Hosts also provided a tour guide for the area. No complaints with the home, hosts, or area.

We had a wonderful stay!! Location is great!! Really enjoyed the hot tub! Loved that we could bring our boat for the weekend. We cannot say enough great things about the host Jon! We had some boat issues out on the water and Jon was so nice he met us at the boat launch and even went to the store and bought us a part to help us try to fix our boat! Book it! This is the rental you are looking for if you love spending quality time on the water with your family. These are the hosts you want because they know hospitality. Jon is very helpful and always responsive. Misty is awesome (because her name is Misty 😉)! She has a pink fridge! Well, the whole kitchen is pink lol but that fridge is special! The coffee bar is super cool, too. My favorite part of the trip (besides the comfy beds) was kayaking for the first time. This is a top tier rental. Book it!

Had a wonderful time at this property …. While we were there air broke but property manager was awesome to respond quickly ! Only issue was advertised as private dock and apparently owner has full access to the dock and showed up three days in a row… hopefully they can fix this as the property is gorgeous!

Words can’t express how pleased we were our stay at Cedar Point. The house was perfectly cozy, very nicely decorated and stocked with all essentials and it offered us everything we were looking for! Thank you Jonathan for being a great host and opening your home to our family. We had one of the best times we can remember and made tons of great memories!!

Jonathan was friendly and prompt to respond to any questions. The house was exactly how described and matched all the pictures. It was clean and fresh. The dock was nice and my hubby and son got some fishing in. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed at the time with nice touches like the coffee bar and a few snacks. Not mentioned in the listing is it is very close to the four lane road . It wasn’t too busy so didn’t have too much trouble getting out. Once inside there was very little noise at night and occasional noise during the day inside. It was convenient to Walmart and grocery stores and restaurants. All in all in was a great few days.

The most peaceful stay I have had in a while. The place was spotless and had everything listed. It is decorated beautifully. Had fun by the water and caught some fish while on the dock. The sunset and fire pit was the perfect ending to our trip. I would highly recommend this place and I will definitely stay here again!
